Transportation Engineer II - Bridge Program

The State of Maine is seeking a Transportation Engineer II for its Department of Transportation. This role involves performing complex engineering functions in support of public works structures and systems, including inspection, documentation, and project management duties.

Responsibilities

Interpretation of the plans and specifications that relate to the project
Performing inspection and measurement of the work
Record-keeping on the materials used by the contractor
Performing other selected tasks related to projects to assure appropriate quality of the end product
Act as a Resident Engineer and perform project management and advanced technical engineering duties
Assisting in the development of projects doing design, plan development, and quantity and cost estimating
The ability to travel statewide for overnight and extended stays is required

Required

Licensure as a Professional Engineer which includes at least two (2) years of work experience which demonstrates independent design, engineering analysis based on established standards, and progressively responsible work overseeing complex engineering projects with increased accountability
Licensure as a professional engineer as issued by the Maine State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers
