Responsibilities

Research, plan, design and develop mechanical test systems in areas including, but not limited to, vibration, thermal, hydraulic, radio frequency, and electro-optical for production testing environments
Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements
Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions

Required

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
Minimum of eight (8) years of technical / engineering experience in mechanical design and/or production support
Minimum of five (5) years experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools with an emphasis on ProE / CREO Parametric
Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance analysis
Experience creating mechanical drawing packages
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred

Design experience with mechanical and electronic packaging
Experience with Configuration Management processes, application, and tools (e.g., Windchill / cPDM)
Experience in Model Based Engineering or Model Based Design
Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal analysis, structural analysis, control systems, electrical hardware design, or large assembly development
Experience with environmental stress screening of hardware (e.g., vibration, shock, thermal, etc.)
Systems engineering experience
Knowledge of basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution
Experience in proposal development and the first four gates within the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS)
Experience with providing guidance and assistance to less experienced professionals and/or support employees
