Emergency Management Specialist (090112)

Responsibilities
Conducting pre-emergency planning, supporting community engagement initiatives, and participating in programs focused on disaster preparedness, recovery, and mitigation, ensuring a coordinated and effective response to emergencies
Qualification
Required
One year of entry professional level experience mitigating against, preparing for, responding to, or recovering from emergencies, disasters, or terrorist events
Two years of entry professional level experience either creating contingency plans, conducting exercises to evaluate plans and training, responding to events creating civil disruption or environmental disturbance, or coordinating the recovery from such events
A bachelor's degree, in any field, from an accredited college; AND One year of entry professional level experience either creating contingency plans, conducting exercises to evaluate plans and training, responding to events creating civil disruption or environmental disturbance, or coordinating the recovery from such events
A valid Alaska driver's license is required
Some positions require the incumbent to obtain a federal security clearance
Work may require periodic, 24-hour on-call duty and travel to remote locations in small aircraft and boats, and may involve exposure to inherently hazardous or potentially dangerous environmental conditions
