They are seeking a Property Accountant to support property-level financial reporting and accounting operations, ensuring accurate and GAAP-compliant financial reporting.

Responsibilities
Oversee and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information provided by the property management team
Compare actual financial results to budget and prepare variance explanations
Review property-level payables and receivables; investigate unusual activity or aging balances
Maintain property fixed asset records, including GAAP and tax depreciation
Enter and import property-level financials into the corporate accounting system
Assist the Controller and asset management team with capital management for renovations
Research accounting issues and document findings and conclusions
Reconcile parent company cash, investment, and equity accounts
Calculate and initiate payment of asset management and acquisition fees
Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end general ledger closes in accordance with GAAP
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
1+ years of real estate accounting experience
Background in property accounting or a related real estate accounting function
Comfortable supporting a growing, transaction-driven portfolio
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
1–2 years of accounting experience
Strong working knowledge of GAAP
Excellent time management and organizational skills
High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
Ability to collaborate in a team environment and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting
Preferred
Prior experience with institutional real estate accounting
CPA strongly preferred
