Responsibilities
Entry-level technicians often provide support to more experienced staff, including setup and removal of testing equipment
They perform routine electrical tests, calibrations, and simple measurements under direct supervision
They learn to operate various testing equipment and understand its capabilities
Assist with cascade documentation (Barcoding, CIP Lists, Equipment energization lists) (Inventory management system)
They adhere to safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment for themselves and others
Understand the use of the Human Performance Tools and apply under the direction of the Start-up Coordinator/ Level 3 in the work zone with barricades, flagging, isolation devices, and other Human performance mitigation
Assist with drawing as-builts with supervision from Start-up Coordinator/ Level 3
Assist with the creation of the Daily safety tailboards (JHA’s)
Assist with the creation of detailed daily reports and submittals
Assist with the daily battery & charger measurements and battery ground test
Qualification
Required
Minimum associate's degree in electrical technology or 1-3 years with Substation field experience
Recommended NETA 1 and above or NICET Certified
First Aid certified in CPR
Basic understanding of electricity and electrical equipment
Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
Good communication skills for interacting with supervisors and colleagues
Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
Basic math skills for calculations related to electrical testing
