Program Manager
Ashley Furniture Industries is the largest manufacturer of furniture in the world, and they are seeking a Program Manager to drive end-to-end program management across Sales, Network, and IT. The role involves orchestrating complex initiatives, aligning priorities, and enabling outcomes that improve quality and reduce costs.
Responsibilities
Lead portfolio planning across Sales, Network, and IT, creating integrated roadmaps with clear scope, milestones, and dependencies to drive on-time delivery and measurable business results
Build detailed program plans and schedules, sequencing work across teams and managing critical paths to reduce cycle time and prevent bottlenecks
Establish portfolio governance including intake, prioritization, and decision cadences to align resources to the highest-impact initiatives and improve transparency
Drive cross-functional execution by coordinating deliverables, removing blockers, and escalating decisions to keep programs on track and within budget
Analyze program performance using defined KPIs and success metrics, and deliver concise status updates and dashboards to provide visibility for stakeholders and leadership
Partner with Sales, Network, and IT leaders to align program objectives with customer experience, reliability, and systems outcomes, improving operational performance and consistency
Create and maintain clear documentation including program charters, plans, risk registers, status reports, and stakeholder communications to ensure alignment and accountability
Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues through structured problem solving and change control to minimize disruption and avoid rework
Standardize processes and templates across the portfolio, run retrospectives, and implement lessons learned to drive continuous improvement and repeatable delivery
Align programs with Ashley’s mission to improve quality and reduce costs, ensuring initiatives deliver tangible value to our customers and our business
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of experience in program or project management delivering cross-functional initiatives across business and technology teams
Proven ability to build integrated program plans, manage inter-team dependencies, and drive execution across Sales, Network, and IT stakeholders to achieve defined outcomes
Experience setting up portfolio governance, structuring intake and prioritization, and managing programs through planning, execution, and launch
Strong analytical skills with the ability to define KPIs, track performance, and interpret program financials and benefits using tools such as Excel or similar
Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to create clear status reports, present to stakeholders, and facilitate alignment and decision-making across diverse teams
Demonstrated capability in risk and issue management, structured problem solving, and disciplined change control to keep work on track
Hands-on, results-driven work style with a commitment to integrity, discipline, and continuous improvement consistent with Ashley's values
Preferred
Professional certification such as PMP, PMI-ACP, or a recognized program management framework certification; demonstrates mastery of program delivery methods
Experience managing portfolios that span sales operations, network reliability initiatives, and enterprise IT programs in a complex, fast-paced environment
Background in manufacturing, retail, or supply chain programs with a focus on operational efficiency and customer experience
Familiarity with portfolio and work management tools (such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, or similar) to support planning, tracking, and reporting
Experience establishing program goals and measurement frameworks that connect outputs to business outcomes and customer impact
Strong facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder influence skills to align priorities across senior leaders and cross-functional teams
