InternThe Bainbridge Island Land Trust is looking for Summer 2026 interns to support their mission to conserve and steward the diverse natural environments of Bainbridge Island. Interns will assist with land stewardship actions, event execution, and the development of educational materials while engaging with the community.

Responsibilities
Assist Land Trust staff to accomplish a variety of land stewardship actions, including but not limited to habitat restoration, preserve maintenance, field research, and monitoring. This work may include: preserve and easement monitoring using Landscape; field data collection on Land Trust preserves using ArcGIS Field Maps; field work including but not limited to trail maintenance, brush clearing, and invasive removal; collecting and analyzing wildlife camera footage and/or acoustic recordings
Represent the Bainbridge Island Land Trust to visitors, supporters, and community members
Assist with event execution and engage with community members at Land Trust education, outreach, and fundraising events
Assist with collection and development of communications and education materials, such as photos and videos for use in print, online, and social media
Design and conduct a semi-independent project in collaboration with Land Trust staff and committee members
Qualification
Required
Must be a college student, recent college graduate, or have comparable experience
Must have access to transportation to and from the Bainbridge Island Land Trust office
Must be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, on uneven terrain, for the duration of the internship
Education, background, or interest in the following or related fields: field biology, ecology, forestry, environmental studies, environmental science, geographical information systems (GIS), environmental communications, and/or natural resource management
Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and cooperatively with the public, supporters, landowners, and volunteers
