Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of 4–7 concurrent transmission interconnection projects of varying scope and complexity
Oversee long-duration projects with timelines typically spanning 3–5 years
Serve as the primary point of contact for power developers seeking to sell power, ensuring alignment with transmission requirements
Manage and coordinate solar projects involving transmission upgrades
Collaborate with internal engineering, transmission, and interconnection teams
Conduct monthly onsite project or field visits as required
Track project milestones, risks, schedules, and deliverables across assigned projects
Provide regular project updates and status reporting to stakeholders
Qualification
Required
5 years of project management experience, preferably within utilities or energy infrastructure
Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
Strong understanding of project lifecycle management, coordination, and stakeholder communication
Willingness to work onsite 3 days per week in Oakbrook Terrace, IL and travel monthly for site visits
Preferred
Experience in electric utility or transmission projects
Background in transmission engineering
Familiarity with transmission interconnection processes
Project management experience in gas or water utilities will also be considered
Experience working with renewable energy developers, particularly solar
No specific software experience required; the organization is currently transitioning to new enterprise systems
PMP certification is not required for contract roles, but would be required if converting to a full-time position
