Responsibilities
Work with the software team to understand our order processing systems and data flows across multiple platforms
Design, build, and deploy a microservice that fits into a larger software ecosystem
Learn the software development lifecycle from design and architecture through implementation, testing, and deployment
Gain hands-on experience integrating AI tools into a production software development workflow
Participate in code review to develop an eye for code quality and software best practices
Engage daily with your mentor and team members to iterate on design decisions and deliver a maintainable solution
Build on your work incrementally, starting with foundational tasks and progressing toward a complete service
Qualification
Required
You are a college student pursuing a degree in engineering
You are an avid learner and willing to take on an unfamiliar project
You have great communication skills and enjoy collaborating with others
You are comfortable programming in Python, and have familiarity with Django, REST APIs, and SQL databases
Familiar with version control such as Git, and comfortable working with Docker and containerized environments
You are curious about AI-assisted development tools and eager to explore how they fit into real workflows
You have worked on projects that apply software solutions to real-world problems
You understand the importance of documentation and testing
You are able to debug issues in your code when they arise
You know when to ask for help if your progress is affected
Preferred
Experience with or exposure to React, Redux, and frontend development is a plus
