Principal/ Sr Principal Systems Engineer
Northrop Grumman is a leading aerospace and defense technology company seeking a Principal Systems Engineer/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join their Systems Engineering organization in Melbourne, FL. The role involves technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and ensuring the conversion of customer requirements into total systems solutions.

Responsibilities
Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5 years of related experience OR Master of science Degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related experience OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 1 year of related experience for Principal Systems Engineer
Bachelor of science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline with 8 years of related experience OR Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 6 years of related experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline and 4 years of related experience for Senior Principal Systems Engineer
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company
Preferred
Experience with Agile workflows
Knowledge of configuration management of model-based architecture baselines
Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills
Proven ability to brief technical presentations to both internal and external stakeholders
Foundation in Model Based Systems Engineering and Architecture Development
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings at technical and program reviews and boards
Ability to apply extensive technical expertise in the development of technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
