Assistant Controller

KBW Financial has partnered with a reputable organization based out of Westborough, MA that is actively looking to add an Assistant Controller to their growing team. The Assistant Controller will report to the Controller and assist with leading the month end close, preparation of finance statements, and all other accounting operations as assigned.

Responsibilities

Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation of account reconciliations and supporting schedules to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Oversee global financial statement consolidation, reviewing subsidiary results for compliance and presenting consolidated financials to senior leadership
Own key components of the close cycle and act as a subject matter expert for ERP and accounting processes related to revenue recognition, commissions, inventory, and cost accounting
Evaluate complex and multi-element revenue arrangements to ensure appropriate revenue allocation in accordance with US GAAP (ASC 606)
Maintain the general ledger, including management of master data and preparation and posting of journal entries
Manage intercompany accounting activities, including eliminations, discrepancy resolution, invoicing, and settlement of intercompany transactions
Review intercompany transfer pricing policies to ensure alignment with corporate standards and local regulatory requirements
Partner with business leaders and department heads to analyze financial results and provide insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
Prepare and support monthly management reporting packages, including financial analysis and key performance indicators
Conduct technical accounting research and analysis, interpret evolving US GAAP guidance, and prepare clear, well-documented technical accounting memoranda
Support budgeting, forecasting, audit preparation, and broader strategic planning initiatives
Assist with tax audits and coordinate preparation of required tax documentation, as needed
Establish, evaluate, and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, US GAAP, and company policy requirements
Lead cross-functional projects and drive continuous process improvement initiatives
Serve as a key member of the accounting and finance leadership team, providing expertise, guidance, and partnership to local and senior leadership
Foster a collaborative team environment by providing leadership, vision, and development opportunities
Mentor and develop team members to strengthen technical skills and maintain high performance standards across accounting and finance functions
