Responsibilities
Implement distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant software systems
Build cloud services on top of the modern OCI infrastructure
Participation in peer/code reviews
Participate in the entire software lifecycle, from design to development, to quality assurance, to production deployment, and ongoing support and maintenance
Invest in the best engineering and operational practices upfront to ensure our software quality bar is high
Optimize data processing pipelines for orders of magnitude higher throughput and faster latencies
Leverage a plethora of internal tooling at OCI to develop, build, deploy, and troubleshoot software
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree required
Strong OO design and programming experience in one or more JVM languages
Demonstrated competence in taking ambiguous functional and/or product requirements and partitioning them based on functional alignment
Experience with working with technical leadership to translate requirements into actionable technical requirements and per-component designs
Experience with all aspects of the development, characterization and deployment of features spanning multiple components
Experience with distributed systems implementing SaaS/IaaS, data pipelines, data ETL in real-time or batch environments
Experience in technologies and design concepts around Big Data processing, Analytics, relational databases, unstructured storage, Hadoop or similar parallel compute technologies, stream processing, etc
Familiarity with Public Cloud SaaS, PaaS Services and/or related technology experience, Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development
5+ years of experience using an object-oriented programming language
Preferred
Experience with partnering with managers to participate in defining and driving the technical culture and processes of an engineering team
Experience building services and API endpoints

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
