DMS Engineer

TruLegal is a global law firm seeking an experienced DMS Engineer to lead the administration and optimization of its NetDocuments document management environment. The role focuses on ensuring system stability, performance, and user-focused document management solutions while providing support and automation.

Senior Management

Responsibilities

Act as the primary technical authority for the document management platform, including configuration, deployment, testing, issue resolution, and ongoing enhancements
Continuously monitor the environment to ensure availability, stability, and optimal performance
Administer and support document management components and related productivity tools
Maintain and support integrations with productivity applications, workflow tools, and other enterprise systems
Execute and manage scheduled toolkit processes
Diagnose and resolve toolkit failures, analyze logs, improve job performance, and coordinate fixes as needed
Review governance system logs and ensure accurate synchronization across connected platforms
Design and implement automation to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency
Support data migrations, metadata cleanup, and retirement of legacy platforms when required
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application-level issues impacting document services
Serve as the main liaison with external vendors to resolve issues and contribute to the long-term document management strategy
Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support, with defined response time expectations
Perform additional related responsibilities as assigned

Required

Extensive hands-on experience administering and engineering NetDocuments environments
Several years of experience working within Windows Server environments
Strong background with SQL Server
Demonstrated experience managing and executing toolkit processes
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
Strong attention to detail and sound judgment
Clear and effective communication skills
Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Proven discretion and ability to handle sensitive information
Comfort working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage multiple initiatives with competing deadlines

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline is preferred
Prior experience with workspace governance or user provisioning platforms is a plus
