Responsibilities

Plan, configure, deploy, and monitor servers, server operating systems, and related services
Plan, configure, and monitor networks, network applications, and telecommunications services
Design, configure, and maintain Active Directory and identity management services
Manage server and network security, access controls, and security permissions
Plan, configure, and manage backup, archival, and business continuity strategies
Oversee installation, maintenance, and upgrades of hardware and software systems
Ensure timely deployment of system updates, patches, and upgrades
Provide IT and telecommunications services to faculty, staff, and students
Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to understand and support instructional and operational technology needs
Review technology requests and make recommendations for hardware and software solutions
Coordinate system access approvals and security permissions
Maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures
Supervise and support assigned IT personnel or vendors, including training and cross-training
Assist with hiring recommendations, performance feedback, and professional development
Establish priorities for IT services and projects
Coordinate projects and prepare regular status and progress reports
Foster a cooperative, service-oriented IT environment across departments
Assist in developing, maintaining, and monitoring the IT budget
Research new technologies and stay current with IT trends relevant to higher education
Make recommendations for system improvements and technology investments

reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance

Familiarity with IT security principles, backups, and disaster recovery concepts
Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to train users and technical staff with varying levels of experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating with leadership and campus stakeholders
Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
Willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends as needed for maintenance or upgrades
Ability to travel locally or out-of-state for meetings or conferences as needed
Associate's degree in Computer Systems, Information Technology, or a related field OR equivalent professional experience

Preferred

Bachelor's degree or additional experience preferred
Experience with Microsoft Servers and Active Directory preferred
Prior experience in a small IT team or sole-IT environment is a plus
