Deputy Director - Human Resources Operations
NEOGOV is seeking a Deputy Director of Human Resources Operations to join the senior leadership team for the Michigan Civil Service Commission. This role focuses on HR operations, guiding teams across 16 state agencies to provide essential HR services while managing staff and optimizing resources.

Responsibilities
Help implement rule and policy changes from the commission and regulation and policy changes from the state personnel director to meet the MCSC’s mission, vision, and goals
Oversee the activities of Group-4 managers that provide direction for statewide HR offices
Manage staff and oversee operations to optimize resources and drive efficiency
Encourage collaboration across agency HR offices and between HR and MCSC central office to identify improvements to deliver exceptional, innovative HR services
Qualification
Required
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major
At least two years of experience as a director of a division
Direct work experience in areas of Human Resources such as Recruitment and Selection, Payroll, Benefits, Disability Management, Performance Management, Labor Relations, Classifications
Experience managing/supervising staff
Experience working in a Human Resources Office
Current employment in a Human Resources Office for a State of Michigan Department or Agency
Submission of a cover letter, resume, and official college transcripts
