Safety Manager
CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) is assisting Scudder Roofing in finding a Safety Manager who will be responsible for overseeing safety programs across roofing and solar operations. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with safety regulations and fostering a proactive safety culture within the organization.

Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and continuously improve all company safety programs, including IIPP, Heat Illness Prevention, Fall Protection, Lockout/Tagout, Workplace Violence Prevention, Fleet Safety, Emergency Response, and Hazard Communication
Ensure all programs remain current, job‑specific, and fully compliant with Cal/OSHA, OSHA, and applicable regulations
Conduct, document, and follow up on jobsite inspections, audits, and Job Hazard Analyses
Serve as the company representative during Cal/OSHA inspections and regulatory interactions
Track, analyze, and report safety performance metrics and trends to leadership
Develop and deliver bilingual (English/Spanish) safety training during new hire orientation, job changes, corrective actions, and as required by regulation
Coach employees, foremen, and supervisors on safe work practices and regulatory standards; maintain accurate training records
Lead investigations for injuries, illnesses, near misses, and property damage; identify root causes and implement corrective actions
Oversee timely workers’ compensation reporting and partner with HR on return‑to‑work and modified duty
Lead the Safety Committee and support supervisors with safety‑related performance guidance
Support material staging coordination and communication between departments
Promote a proactive, values‑aligned safety culture through professional, diplomatic, and solution‑oriented leadership
Maintain confidentiality and uphold Scudder’s core values in all interactions
Establish effective communication with owners, coworkers, contractors, vendors, and clients
Follow safe equipment use, standard procedures, and common‑sense safety practices
Perform additional related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field or at least 5 years of safety management experience in roofing, solar, or construction
Strong working knowledge of Cal/OSHA Title 8 and relevant safety regulations
Demonstrated success developing and leading effective safety programs
Proven experience coaching, training, and holding employees accountable in a safety‑focused environment
Experience in safety leadership or managerial role
Bilingual English/Spanish required
OSHA 30‑Hour Construction – required
Preferred
CHST, CSP, or ASP – preferred
First Aid/CPR/AED Trainer – preferred
