DEPARTMENTAL TECHNICIAN / TRAINEE
NEOGOV is seeking a Departmental Technician/Trainee for the Michigan Department of Corrections. This role involves interpreting court documents, managing prisoner intake and release, and maintaining accurate data related to prisoner movements. The technician will also conduct data entry and prepare reports to assist facility staff.

Responsibilities
Research and analyze data from MDOC and outside agency databases
Prepare reports on a daily basis to assist other facility staff
Review and interpret data from the Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN), Offender Management Network Information system (OMNI), Offender Management System (OMS), and Michigan Criminal Justice Information Network (MiCJIN)
Ensure the daily prisoner count is accurate based on the completion of the daily bulletin and review of all movements into and out of the facility
Perform data entry, file maintenance, and technical duties related to prisoner misconducts
Qualification
Required
Education typically acquired through completion of high school
One year of experience performing experienced-level administrative support activities equivalent to the 7-level in state service
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 8-level in state service
One year of experience as a technician or paraprofessional equivalent to the entry level in state service
One year of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service
Two years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate level in state service
Two years of experience in a 7 level or higher non-administrative support ECP Group One classification
One year of experience as a first-line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification
Completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits) may be substituted for the experience requirement
Possession of a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for the experience requirement
Possession of a Bachelor's degree and one year of job-related experience may be substituted for the experience requirement
At least one year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 7-level in state service OR completion of at least two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits)
At least One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 8-level in state service. OR One year of experience as a technician or paraprofessional equivalent to the entry level in state service. OR possession of a Bachelor's degree in any major

Do you possess at least 24 months experience in dealing with prisoner files and/or 24 months experience in dealing with crime victim advocate material information?
