Responsibilities

Solve customer polymer processing issues utilizing fundamental polymer knowledge, polymer processing skills, and intuition
Independently design experiments to determine the effect of polymer processing variables on our materials and the customer product
Document key results and processing parameters used during engagements into our standardized form and upload to our repository
Understand appropriate polymer analytical testing connecting results to polymer processing, chemistry, and customer observations
Interface with product teams to support new product development
Collaborate closely with commercial team on customer projects keeping them updated on status and concerns
Aid in developing processing recommendations of new and existing products for customers
Develop strong relationships with customers to aid in Celanese being the partner of choice

Polymer processing experienceScientific molding knowledgeInjection molding operationPolymer materials expertiseTool design proficiencyProcess simulation toolsCustomer relationship skills

Required

10+ years of polymer processing experience required
BS in a related discipline preferred
Scientific molding certification is a plus
Hands-on practical experience operating injection molding equipment
Experience in other processing methods in addition to injection molding is a plus
Expertise in polymer materials and plastics processing
Work experience supporting OEMs or tiers directly is a plus
Proficiency in tool and/or plastic part design, Computer Aided Engineer, or process simulation tools is a plus
Readiness to travel up to 80% to customer or Celanese sites
