Theater Technical Specialist

Mid LevelCambridge Public Schools is seeking skilled and experienced technical theater professionals to support the newly renovated school theaters. The Technical Specialist will oversee technical aspects during events, ensuring proper use of equipment and providing assistance with lighting, sound, and staging.

Responsibilities
Overseeing all technical aspects of the theater while in use by CPSD, the City of Cambridge and outside renters
Ensure proper use and care of CPS equipment and the facility by preparing the space for the arrival of the user
Assisting with the operation of theatrical lighting and sound
Advising staging and possible stagecraft development
Be very familiar with the Eos family of lighting control
Knowledge of the Soundcraft Digital series of sound control
Basic microphone and speaker placement and use
Good working knowledge of computers (pc/mac) and projectors
Act as a representative of the CPS
Have excellent communication and customer service skills
Work with young learners and community members
Qualification
Required
Experience and strong knowledge of technical theater
Knowledge of technical theater boards, panels and equipment
Customer Service experience
Familiarity with the Eos family of lighting control
Familiarity with the Soundcraft Digital series of sound control
Basic microphone and speaker placement and use
Good working knowledge of computers (pc/mac) and projectors
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work with young learners and community members
Benefits
If you are a non-exempt employee and have worked more than 40 hours a week, you will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours
