Internship, Supercharger SIL Test Infrastructure Software Engineer, Energy Engineering (Summer 2026)

Tesla is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to contribute to the development of the next generation of Supercharger system software. The intern will be responsible for developing code and infrastructure for testing Supercharger’s central embedded software, collaborating with firmware developers, and validating critical performance metrics.

Responsibilities

Develop infrastructure and test script for validating performance critical and thread-safe code in a large multi-threaded codebase
Collaborate closely with low level embedded firmware developers

Qualification

Required

Currently pursuing a Degree in Computer Science or related field
Strong proficiency in a compiled programming language (C++)
Experience writing multi-threaded and multi-process applications
Experience writing networked applications (TCP/IP , sockets)

Preferred

Experience with protobuf/gRPC
Experience with Linux (processes, signals, unix sockets, filesystems, permissions, bash scripting, etc.)
Experience with Docker
Experience with HiL or SiL
