Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees generally consisting of Home Managers, Program Coordinators, Nursing Staff, Direct Support Staff, etc
Emphasizes professionalism, fosters open communication and helps keep the team focused on progressing toward company goals
Provides leadership to employees by promoting harmony among co-workers and clearly stating company and unit objectives and strategies
Measures staff satisfaction with services and organizational performance and identifying areas for improvement
Directs the employee management and discipline program to ensure accountability of day-to-day quality management services
Ensures responsible hiring, promotion, progressive discipline and termination according to company policy
Ensures training, employee development and performance evaluations are timely, ongoing and appropriate to job duties
Ensures the unit’s training database accurately reflects documentation of required training
In coordination with the Regional Administrator, the Administrator develops and implements strategies to establish and strengthen relationships with referral sources, and gain clientele
Monitors and reviews all admission and discharge procedures
Maintains open lines of communication with Support Coordinators, families/guardians, outside professionals and clientele
Is actively involved in all services and programs
Monitors the development and implementation of support plans to ensure clientele receive the maximum benefit from the program design
Makes suggestions for and approves programmatic support plans
Measures satisfaction with services and identifies areas for improvement
Handles complaints according to the Office of Human Rights and Company policy
Participates in Local Human Rights Committee meetings and adheres to the requirements set forth in the company's participation agreement with that entity
Directs the confidential and immediate investigation into allegations of abuse, neglect, exploitation, theft, fraud, waste, misconduct, and violations of ethics and compliance practices according to company policy
Coordinates and directs the activities of the team to ensure the highest level of quality supports and outcomes are available to clientele
Ensures adequate clinical supervision/oversight
Ensures implementation of the company’s Quality Improvement Plans
Ensures implementation of staff training policies and procedures
Ensures/monitors the quality assurance system
Remains current on all applicable regulatory standards
Strives for a performance target of no audit citations from state inspection, survey teams, etc
Assures implementation of a timely and thorough plan of correction for quality assurance audits, licensure and certification surveys, etc
Monitors payroll hours
Determines billable hours and submits Service Authorization Requests
Adjusts Service Authorization Requests to ensure accurate reimbursement for services
Files Medicaid Claims, and monitors billing for accuracy and timely submission
Ensures timely recruiting to fill service vacancies
Manages a capital improvement program for updating, maintaining and improving facilities
Directs and manages a Safety program to minimize safety and environmental risks, accidents and injury, and reports all such incidents within state and company policy
Inspects residential living conditions by visiting each service location on a regular basis
Ensures all service locations and grounds are clean, free of fire and safety hazards and meet or exceed community standards for appearance and life safety codes
Ensures furnishings are appropriate and in good condition
Manages company vehicles to ensure safe transportation, appropriate staff training and vehicle maintenance
Maintains a community/public relations presence by participating in activities, examining growth opportunities, and participating in those events that enhance a positive community presence and visibility for the company
Maintains a positive and professional image in the work setting and community
Establishes and maintains frequent and regular communication with subordinates, officers, and families/guardians
Resolves complaints/issues and serves as a role model for employees, visitors, the general public and individuals being supported
Actively researches and pursues opportunities for growth and development of new business for Cornerstone
Performs other duties as assigned
Work requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel
Practices universal medical precautions by understanding and utilizing personal protective and safety equipment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a human services field
At least three years of nonprofit leadership experience
Experience in working with the population served and in providing the services outlined in the Service Description
Ability to conduct assessments and write Individualized Services Plans
Maintain state and company training requirements to work with individuals with developmental disabilities
Experience in strategic planning and execution
Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources
Ability to develop and deliver presentations
Ability to identify and secure funding/revenue sources
Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government
Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects
