Responsibilities

Monitor, log, and analyze tickets related to unexpected Zscaler/Zapp errors, identifying potential root causes and larger infrastructure issues (e.g., server outages)
Perform daily troubleshooting and testing of Zapp client versions to ensure stability and performance
Ensure Zapp is properly bypassed or excluded from other applications and security solutions to prevent conflicts and outages
Review Zscaler/Zapp release notes, identify known issues, and develop fixes or mitigations for client images
Manage Zapp client lifecycle, including evaluation, deployment, and support of new versions
Plan and execute Zapp version upgrades at least bi-annually in alignment with best practices
Coordinate closely with Zscaler support and engineering teams during upgrades and issue resolution
Implement pilot testing for new Zapp versions before enterprise-wide rollout
Deploy approved Zapp versions after formal review and deployment decisions
Maintain documentation related to client versions, known issues, fixes, and deployment procedures
Determine and manage user assignments for different Zscaler group policies
Identify and maintain pilot user groups for testing new Zapp versions
Assign and update users across appropriate Zapp group policies as required
Support controlled rollouts from pilot groups to full production environments
Coordinate deployment decisions and version rollouts with stakeholders
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors (Zscaler)
Ensure upgrades and changes follow best practices and minimize business impact
Communicate risks, issues, and upgrade plans clearly to relevant teams

Required

Hands-on experience supporting Zscaler and Zapp client environments
Strong troubleshooting skills for endpoint, network, and security-related issues
Experience with logging, analyzing, and resolving incident tickets
Knowledge of application compatibility, exclusions, and security solution integrations
Familiarity with software release management, version control, and phased rollouts
Ability to interpret release notes and translate findings into actionable fixes
Determine and manage user assignments for different Zscaler group policies
Identify and maintain pilot user groups for testing new Zapp versions
