Marketing Summer 2026 Intern - Fire Safety Research Institute

UL Research Institutes is seeking a motivated Marketing Summer 2026 Intern to join their team in Columbia, MD. This internship offers hands-on experience in a nonprofit research environment, where the intern will assist in amplifying research projects, creating reports and presentations, and supporting public education campaigns related to fire safety.

Responsibilities

Assist in amplifying research projects related to FSRI safety mission and goals. This may involve organizing events and sourcing or creating web content, social media, presentations, and other written materials
Support in creating reports, presentations, visualizations, and public education campaigns summarizing research findings. Prepare materials for internal and external presentations
Help collect and organize content following standard operating procedures
Work closely with the research amplification team and other departments to gather information, share information, and contribute to a collaborative and innovative work environment
Assist in managing and organizing projects, ensuring they are on brand, on schedule and within budget. Take on specific tasks related to project goals
Perform administrative duties as needed, including data entry, scheduling, and coordination of meetings

Required

Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in a related field (e.g., communications, marketing, public relations etc.)
Recent graduates may also be considered
Strong interest in the non-profit sector
Excellent communication and writing skills
Proficiency in copywriting for marketing communications
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
An eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges

Preferred

Spanish or Canadian French language proficiency preferred
