As a GIS Intern, you will work closely with RETTEW’s GIS professionals to support spatial analysis, mapping, and data management efforts across multiple practices.

Responsibilities
Support GIS analysis, mapping, and data visualization for active client projects
Assist with editing, validating, and managing geospatial datasets
Create maps, figures, and graphics used in technical reports and presentations
Configure mobile and web apps using ArcGIS Online
Apply GIS tools and workflows learned in coursework to real project needs
Collaborate with GIS staff, engineers, environmental scientists, and planners
Participate in ASPIRE program activities, including mentoring sessions, learning workshops, and team engagement events
Qualification
Required
Junior or senior standing in a bachelor's program in GIS, Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering, or a related field
Completion of intermediate-level GIS coursework
Working knowledge of Esri software, such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines
Preferred
Experience with spatial analysis, geoprocessing, or database management
Exposure to Python, ModelBuilder, or scripting within a GIS environment
Familiarity with data from engineering, environmental, or infrastructure projects
Interest in pursuing a full-time GIS or geospatial role after graduation
