The County of San Diego is seeking a Senior Data and Research Analyst to join its Business Intelligence Unit. This role involves transforming data into meaningful insights, producing dashboards and reports, conducting business process reviews, and implementing new technologies to support departmental operations and decision-making.

Responsibilities
Producing dynamic, recurring dashboards and reports--weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually--using Excel and Power BI
Distributing visualizations to executive leadership and external partners to inform decisions and track performance
Conducting business process reviews to identify operational efficiencies across the department
Performing site visits, employee interviews, and process mapping to develop recommendations that improve workflow and support staffing decisions
Leading the implementation of new technologies, participating in every phase from procurement and system design to training and deployment
Responding to Public Records Act requests and other data inquiries on behalf of the department
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university or a certified foreign studies equivalency; AND, two (2) years of full-time professional level experience performing data analysis and research activities to support program, policy, and/or operational decision-making; OR
Six (6) years of full-time professional level experience performing data analysis and research activities to support program, policy, and/or operational decision-making
A master's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience; OR, additional years of experience as described above may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis
Experience in SQL
Ability to produce dynamic, recurring dashboards and reports using Excel and Power BI
Experience conducting business process reviews to identify operational efficiencies
Experience with site visits, employee interviews, and process mapping
Ability to develop recommendations that improve workflow and support staffing decisions
Experience leading the implementation of new technologies, including procurement, system design, training, and deployment
Ability to respond to Public Records Act requests and other data inquiries
