Responsibilities
Provide data and project support for MultiCare Laboratories to aid in quality management, process development, laboratory strategy, performance metrics, safety, proficiency testing, document control, best practice teams, student programs, and employee training/competencies
Work with teams to design and implement quality tools, including databases and IT solutions
Provide leadership, demonstrate effective communication, and apply problem-solving skills to clinical and laboratory settings
Direct and manage the technical functions, middle-ware, processes, procedures, and policies related to the laboratory practices of the Core Laboratory at all hospitals and clinics in the MultiCare Health System
Effectively direct the processes at multiple Core Laboratories that include functions in Chemistry, Hematology, Flow Cytometry, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Immunology
Maintain and coordinate processes, procedures, policies, and quality assurance, related to communication and collaboration with physicians and other clinicians regarding clinical performance and utility of testing
Ensure the continued accreditation by all regulating entities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in medical technology or chemical, physical or biological science
MT(ASCP) certification or equivalent
Three years previous supervisory or management experience
Three years' experience as a laboratory Generalist
Laboratory computer experience (network-based LIS and HIS systems, PC based software)
Ability to travel efficiently to geographically separate locations
Preferred
MS, MBA or graduate degree
