Human Resources Assistant
Ubertal Inc. is seeking a Human Resource Assistant (Union LOA Specialist) to support the administration of sick leave and medical leave benefits for bargaining unit employees. This role ensures compliance with company policies, union contracts, and state/federal regulations related to leave management.

Responsibilities
Review and process sick leave applications in accordance with company policies and state/federal regulations
Enter and maintain accurate data in the payroll/attendance system
Manage short-term and long-term medical leave cases in alignment with the Union contract
Communicate leave status and updates to relevant departments, including Security, Training, HR, and employees’ departments
Manage the Kan Medical Inbox to respond to inquiries and process medical documentation promptly
Participate in grievance meetings related to medical leave issues; attend arbitration hearings involving medically related termination cases
Maintain medical records, absence forms, and doctor’s notes in full compliance with PHI and HIPAA regulations
Support the Wellbeing Committee in Kankakee with monthly site-wide initiatives
Assist the Global Benefits team with special projects and additional tasks as needed
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
At least 2 years of relevant experience in a customer-facing or employee-support role
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
Preferred
Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field
Experience with Workday (WorkDay knowledge is a plus)
