Senior Director, Marketing and Communications
The National Eczema Association (NEA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the eczema community. They are seeking a Senior Director of Marketing and Communications to lead digital innovation and content creation, ensuring NEA's voice is impactful across various platforms while engaging effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Develop and implement an integrated marketing strategy that advances NEA’s mission, brand, and revenue goals
Drive a digital-first approach, including web, social media, email, search, and emerging platforms
Ensure consistency and alignment across all brand touchpoints (NEA’s Seal of Acceptance, Patient Education, Community Engagement, etc.)
Lead creation of compelling, accessible, and inclusive content that educates, inspires, and mobilizes eczema patients, caregivers, and stakeholders
Oversee digital content calendars, editorial workflows, and multimedia production
Partner with program staff to translate research, advocacy, and patient stories into impactful campaigns
Manage digital channels (web, SEO/SEM, email, social media, paid advertising) with a focus on measurable engagement and conversion
Implement performance tracking, UTM tagging, and reporting dashboards to evaluate ROI and optimize campaigns
Stay ahead of trends in AI, personalization, and digital tools to enhance reach and engagement
Ensure marketing strategies reflect and honor the lived experiences of people with eczema and their families
Collaborate with Development, Program Team, and Corporate Relations teams to amplify campaigns and support fundraising, partnerships, and events
Serve as a trusted steward of NEA’s voice, balancing scientific credibility with community resonance
Supervise internal and external marketing/communications staff and vendors, fostering accountability, creativity, and collaboration
Oversee marketing budgets and vendor relationships to maximize efficiency and impact
Provide leadership to the entire staff on brand positioning, messaging, and public presence
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or related field required
7+ years of progressive marketing/communications experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role with a national or international organization/company
Proven and strong expertise in digital marketing strategy, content creation, SEO/SEM, and analytics
Experience managing campaigns across web, social media, email, and paid channels
Strong understanding of nonprofit mission-driven communications and sensitivity to patient/health communities
Demonstrated ability to translate complex medical/scientific information into accessible, engaging content
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills
Data-driven mindset with proficiency in analytics tools (Google Analytics, social dashboards, CRM integration)
Strong leadership, project management, and vendor management skills
Creative, forward-thinking, and adaptable with a collaborative spirit
Preferred
Advanced degree a plus
Preference given to those with healthcare, patient advocacy or not-for-profit organizations
