School District U-46 is offering a paid internship for college students to support, research, and design student programming. The role focuses on enhancing student engagement and sense of belonging through inclusive programming and involves various responsibilities related to planning and communication.

Primary/Secondary Education

Responsibilities

Assist with researching, drafting, and planning for student programming specific to an identified need for a specified group of high school students

Help identify gaps in current club offerings and recommend new opportunities based on student interest and input

Support the district's goal of enhancing student engagement and sense of belonging through inclusive programming

Support the effort to design programming and communication strategies to engage students in the programming

Assist with social media content creation and monitoring to advertise programming

Develop communication pieces and components of programming for students

Create multimedia support, including short videos and photography

Assist with special event planning and preparation

Support community outreach and engagement initiatives

Assist with preparation of programming

Qualification

Proficient with Microsoft OfficeExperience in social mediaWriting skillsAP StyleGraphic design toolsBilingual skillsInterpersonal skills

Required

Currently enrolled in college and interested in pursuing a career in communications, public relations, marketing, human services or education

Excellent writing and editing skills

Knowledge of AP Style

Proficient with Microsoft Office Products and Google Drive

Experience in social media, website, and content management

Experience using graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator

Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills

Ability to consistently meet deadlines

Ability to work on a computer for a major portion of the day

Ability to carry up to 20 pounds of equipment

Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions

Preferred

Bilingual oral and/or written skills (English/Spanish) is a plus
