This role involves acting as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of sophisticated clients, overseeing financial reporting, audit coordination, and accounting oversight in a highly visible, client-facing capacity.

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary accounting and financial reporting contact for a portfolio of clients
Review and analyze financial statements (GAAP and statutory), reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Perform ongoing “mini-audits,” including variance analysis, documentation review, and internal control assessments
Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third parties to ensure accurate and timely reporting
Apply professional judgment to complex accounting matters and clearly articulate the “why” to clients
Own deliverables end-to-end, from planning through final review and presentation
Provide light mentorship and technical guidance, while remaining hands-on and execution-oriented
Contribute to process improvements and best practices across the client accounting function
Qualification
Required
5–8+ years of public accounting experience
Experience at the Manager level strongly preferred
Strong background in audit, financial reporting, and accounting judgment
Comfortable reviewing complex work and making independent decisions
Confident communicator who can interface with Controllers, CFOs, and senior stakeholders
CPA required
Open to learning a specialized accounting niche (training provided)
