Responsibilities

Support cutting-edge research by providing high-quality genomics services to internal and external investigators
Interact with customers, lab staff and faculty on a daily basis
Operate advanced genomics technologies, perform genomics assays including DNA/RNA extraction and QC, library preparation for short and long read sequencing and data reporting/troubleshooting
Integrate into a fast-paced service lab and assist with benchmarking and new service development and optimization

Required

Bachelor's degree required
5+ years of relevant experience required
None

Preferred

Experience working in a core facility or service-oriented laboratory
Strong background in basic and advanced Molecular Biology techniques, and ability to follow protocols, and standard operating procedures
Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Able to work as a team but also independently on multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent organizational, communication, documentation and reporting skills are a must
Master's degree in biological sciences, or a related field
Prior experience training or supporting users in laboratory techniques
Though the new hire will be trained in all core's related technologies and services, experience/familiarity in core molecular techniques will be a plus including: Nucleic Acid extraction and QC analysis, PCR, qPCR and primer design, Single cell and bulk RNA seq library preparation and analysis, Short read (Illumina) and long read (PacBio) sequencing methods
Working knowledge of lab management software (eg Ilab)
Strong interest/experience in bioinformatics tools and data analysis pipelines
