Molex is seeking an Engineer Assistant to support their R&D teams in developing cutting edge optical components and modules. The role involves supporting lab activities, assisting engineers with maintenance, procurement, and testing of optical transceivers, and ensuring the organization of lab operations.

Responsibilities

Engineering support: supporting engineers with design, prototyping, production, and testing
Lab maintenance: keeping the lab organized, ensuring instrument calibration, and maintaining test setups
Procurement: ordering parts, materials, and instruments, tracking inventories, and managing components used in R&D lab
Rework: assisting in modifying or repairing PCB boards, fiber optic assemblies, and/or electronic components
Test equipment management: setting up, labeling, maintaining, calibrating, and scheduling the use of test instruments
Optical/electrical testing: running measurements, and collecting data
Shipping process: working with shipping department for vendors/customers/our purchases

Required

Associates Degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in an electronic or testing lab
Experience with optical transceivers
Understanding of basic electrical principles
Experience managing inventory
Experience calibrating equipment
Experience running electronic tests

Preferred

Experience working with Optical Transceivers
Laboratory experience or equivalent experience working with optical transceivers or optical communication systems is highly desired
