Responsibilities
Supports finance initiatives and sees objectives through to completion
Records journal entries, analyzes data, and runs queries within the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Expense Management system, administration systems, and related databases
Prepares account reconciliations and certifies to the accuracy and completeness of financial information
Works with various finance functions including expense management, accounts payable, financial reporting, operations accounting, reinsurance and internal audit to understand and improve processes
Assists in preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP and STAT financial reporting and analysis
Supports the preparation of financial statements and disclosures, ensuring supporting documentation is in line with company policies
Assesses departmental processes and makes recommendations for improvements and efficiency
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field
0-3 years of related accounting or finance experience
Proven ability to work independently and learn quickly
Excellent judgment, tact and interpersonal skills
Strong time management skills and multi-tasking abilities
Analytical skills with ability to synthesize and summarize data
Advanced excel skills; access, word, powerpoint, visio skills a plus
Preferred
Experience in or familiarity with the insurance industry
PeopleSoft experience a plus
