Senior Business Development Specialist
SpanIdea is a global product, systems, and digital engineering services company specializing in various engineering solutions. They are seeking a Senior Business Development professional to support revenue growth and customer expansion across North America, focusing on opportunity identification, customer engagement, and the sales process.
Responsibilities
Support North America business development initiatives across Systems Engineering, IoT, Edge AI, Digital Engineering, Automotive, and Product Engineering services
Identify and qualify new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and inbound leads
Assist in new logo acquisition and account expansion with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and technology companies
Engage with customers to understand requirements, position solutions, and articulate value propositions
Support end-to-end sales activities including discovery, solution discussions, proposal preparation, and deal closure
Participate in techno-commercial discussions related to IoT platforms, Edge AI, embedded systems, and digital engineering services
Build and maintain strong working relationships with engineering, product, and digital stakeholders at client organizations
Collaborate closely with internal delivery, engineering, and presales teams to align offerings with customer needs
Maintain and update sales pipeline, forecasts, and CRM data
Contribute to achieving team-level revenue and pipeline targets
Qualification
Required
10-15 years of experience in business development or sales within Systems Engineering, IoT, Edge AI, Digital Engineering, Automotive, or Product Engineering services
Good understanding of IoT and Edge AI platforms, embedded software, digital engineering, and product development lifecycles
Experience supporting or selling engineering and digital services to OEMs, Tier-1s, or product companies
Ability to engage with engineering, product, and R&D stakeholders
Working knowledge of services engagement models (T&M, Fixed Bid, Managed Services)
Strong communication, presentation, and coordination skills
Proactive, execution-oriented, and collaborative mindset
Preferred
Experience supporting sales of IoT, Edge AI, Digital Engineering, or Automotive software services
Exposure to Connected Vehicles, ADAS, SDV, Industrial IoT, Edge ML, or Cloud-native platforms
Familiarity with the Silicon Valley / North America customer ecosystem
