American University is seeking Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leaders to provide academic support to students in challenging courses. SI Leaders will facilitate review sessions and collaborate with faculty and academic services to enhance student learning.

Responsibilities

Attend and engage in their supported class, take notes, and familiarize themselves with the course assignments
Plan and prepare for weekly SI sessions
Facilitate one (two-hour) or two (one-hour) weekly review sessions
Distribute SI session sign-in sheets for each SI session
Attend and fully participate in semester training and cohort meetings
Conduct peer observations of fellow SI Leaders
Meet with Student Academic Services staff at least twice per semester
Meet with their supported faculty members at least twice per semester
Accurate complete time sheets and surveys in a timely manner
Distribute end of the semester survey to their supported course
