Responsibilities
Lead corrective action teams and utilize quality tools, including 8D, in response to quality issues, including customer concerns
Develop, analyze and verify effectiveness of process controls by teaming with engineering to review customer specifications and drawings. Review and update Quality control plans and quality checklists
Design, document and implement methods and procedures for inspection and test
Improving plant quality performance, and customer satisfaction through process improvement techniques such as SPC, FMEA, DOE, Lean manufacturing etc
Develop and maintain quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished products
Support nonconformance documentation and MRB disposition process, including analysis of customer complaints
Interface with customers on critical issues as needed
Conduct and report on internal audits
Participate in engineering CCB’s and assist in the development and refinement of PFMEAs
Provide training and mentoring to team members in the development of quality improvement skills and the application of various quality tools
Performs other duties as assigned
Occasional travel to Sanmina Mexico for business meetings, client visits, or project collaboration
Qualification
Required
BS degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or similar field
Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in quality engineering or related area in a manufacturing environment
Experience with reading and interpreting GD&T requirements required
Excellent written and oral communications
Ability to interface with customers
Ability to perform and document customer required source inspections
Strong technical backplane assembly process and engineering experience, including; assembly drawing and component data sheet interpretation, first article inspection, product and process qualification and planning, new product introduction planning and execution, process risk and opportunity analysis
Extensive engineering and manufacturing experience
Experience with AS 9100 first articles
Experience performing and documenting failure mode analysis (FMEA)
Experience with Agile and Oracle
Experience with Acrobat, Microsoft and Google software
Strong understanding of industry quality standards, e.g. ISO 9001, AS 9100, TL 9000, NADCAP
Ability to work independently, with little direction
