Recreation Assistant - Event Assistant (Yuma Civic Center)

NEOGOV is seeking a Recreation Assistant - Event Assistant to join the City of Yuma's Parks and Recreation team. The role involves supporting various recreational programs and events, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and providing excellent customer service to participants and visitors.

Responsibilities

Supports the relationship between the City and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and City staff; promotes the City goals and priorities, vision, values and the “Yuma Way”, and complies with all City policies and procedures
Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues and City information; performs other duties as required or assigned
Resolves routine problems encountered in performance of work assignments
Performs related duties as assigned (see below)
Follows diagrams and sketches to set up tables, chairs, booths, concession stands, bars, audio visual equipment, electrical outlets, and special equipment or materials according to customer specifications
Monitors, maintains and cleans facilities and event sites in a safe clean manner before, during and after the event
Monitors crowd flow and direct or assists customers and public as requested
Monitors, cleans and restocks restroom supplies before, during, and after events
Operates light duty equipment including vacuums and light duty vehicles as needed
Sets up food, materials and supplies necessary for the operation of concession stands and bars
Prepares and sells food, beverages, admissions, and merchandise to customers
Monitors and maintains security and safety of facilities, patrons and employees through observation and patrol of grounds during events
Assists in cleanup and removal of equipment and secures facilities and sites after events

Required

Must be at least 15 years of age
A valid Arizona State Driver's License may be required
Food Handler's permit/County Health Department Certificate may be required
Arizona liquor law Title 4 training may be required

Some customer service or maintenance experience or participation in group programs is preferred
