Senior Outreach Coordinator- **INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY**

Responsibilities

Lead planning, coordination, and execution of countywide outreach events, ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, open houses, town halls, and public information sessions on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners and County departments
Develop comprehensive event plans that include objectives, timelines, staffing, risk assessments, accessibility and ADA compliance, permitting, budgets, vendor contracts, site logistics, and post-event evaluations
Supervise and mentor outreach and events staff, interns, and contractors; assign tasks, monitor performance, and support professional development
Serve as primary county liaison to municipal governments, schools, nonprofits, civic groups, and community stakeholders; cultivate partnerships and negotiate co-sponsorships and shared resources
Design and implement multi-channel communications strategies for events and campaigns, including earned media outreach, social media, email marketing, signage, print collateral, and digital content
Prepare and manage media relations for high-profile events, including press releases, media advisories, spokesperson preparation, press briefings, photography and videography coordination, and post-event media analysis
Oversee content production for outreach materials: newsletters, brochures, fact sheets, web pages, social posts, digital ads, and short-form video; ensure accuracy, accessibility, and consistency with County brand and messaging
Monitor performance metrics and community feedback; produce data-driven reports, KPIs, and recommendations to improve outreach effectiveness and community participation
Provide on-site leadership at events, handle real-time troubleshooting, and coordinate incident communications when required
Assist in developing Countywide public participation and community engagement strategies; support public input processes, surveys, and stakeholder workshops
Support emergency communications and public information efforts during incidents, coordinating messaging with emergency management and relevant departments
Perform related duties and special projects as assigned
In the event of an emergency, position is required to respond/perform duties as assigned and to work extended shifts in the Emergency Operations Center or other assigned locations within the County, to include holidays or weekends

Required

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Public Administration, Event Management or closely related field
Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in public sector communications, community engagement, event management or public relations
Valid State of Florida Driver's License
Any equivalent combination of related training, education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis

Preferred

2 years in a supervisory or lead role preferred
Experience within local government or public agency preferred
