Senior Mechanical Engineer – Custom Systems (ITAR / DoD Eligible)

Responsibilities

Gather customer and internal requirements and translate them into engineering solutions
Create requirements documents and Statements of Work (SOWs)
Design, model, prototype, test, and deploy mechanical components and systems
Develop project plans, manage milestones, and lead technical reviews
Design mechanical subsystems for automated test and measurement solutions
Collaborate with sales, engineering, alliance partners, and suppliers
Support system deployment and customer projects as needed
Travel domestically in support of project objectives

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics
8+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience
U.S. Citizen with ability to work on ITAR / DoD-regulated projects
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and processes
Proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as Creo or SolidWorks
Solid experience applying GD&T
Proven ability to create design documentation and SOWs
Experience working with external suppliers and vendors
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Confidential security clearance
Ability to commute to Austin, TX 78759

Preferred

Experience with fixture and tool design
Thermal and/or stress analysis experience
Knowledge of FMEA and RCCA methodologies
Familiarity with manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, casting, etc.)
Understanding of ESD principles
Basic knowledge of electrical design concepts (grounding, shielding, cabling)
