The Systems Engineer role involves overseeing multiple technology platforms to enhance staff effectiveness and student learning, while also providing technical guidance and solutions to improve service delivery across the District.

Responsibilities
Provide technical direction for design, development and system integration across multiple client platforms
Applies significant knowledge of industry trends to improve service to clients across the District
Identifies system deficiencies and develops effective solutions to resolve those deficiencies
Works with peers to suggest alternative technical solutions to meet client needs with greater effectiveness and efficiency
Pursues excellence in delivery of technology services to the District
Leads support and maintenance activities of multiple technology platforms across the District, including but not limited to; Google for Education, Google Administration Console, Active Directory/Group Policy, server backups, network storage, etc
Works with Network Engineer to ensure best practices and manages delegated portions of network firewall and content filter
Follow written and oral directions
Communicate with all members of the Technology Department
Attend technology training and meetings as needed and/or directed
Adhere to District and Department policies and procedures
Provide proactive technology recommendations to the Director of Technology
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology or other District Administrators which are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications of the position
Qualification
Required
Bachelors of Science in Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience in the audio/visual field
Expert knowledge of Mac, Windows, iOS, and Google Chrome operating systems
Ability to manage many technology platforms and lead integration across those platforms
Possesses significant knowledge of complex server and storage concepts
Possesses significant knowledge of client/server environments and works with peers to apply the appropriate technologies
Possesses significant knowledge of complex database concepts
