The Energy Efficiency Consultant/Data Scientist will support the evaluation of energy efficiency programs by analyzing complex datasets and developing statistical models to provide insights and high-quality deliverables for clients.

Responsibilities
Analyze complex datasets, develop statistical models, and conduct analysis to interpret trends and patterns in data
Collect, clean, and analyze program and utility datasets for evaluation research
Develop clear, client-ready technical memos, reports, and presentation materials for a range of audiences
Communicate effectively with clients including explaining methods, findings, and recommendations
Manage assigned tasks and timelines, proactively flag risks, questions and dependencies to project leadership
Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance
Contribute to quality control to ensure deliverables are accurate, well-documented, and actionable
Qualification
Required
5-8 years professional experience in the energy and utility sector or applied analytics preferably in a consulting environment
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, Computer Science or other related fields
Strong proficiency in statistical programming: ideally with R, Python or SAS
Experience conducting analyses on large datasets and building reproducible analysis workflows
Experience conducting statistical analysis, sample design, and economic modeling
Experience with program evaluation and measurement and verification (M&V) methods
Strong writing and presentation skills, including translating technical work into clear recommendations for clients
Preferred
Project/task management experience, including client communication and coordination
Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior analysts
