Robotics Systems Engineer (Automotive)
Kaygen, Inc. is seeking a Robotics Systems Engineer to integrate and deploy robotic systems within the automotive sector. The role involves developing applications, managing project scopes, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
Integrate and deploy robotic systems, including virtual safety solutions
Develop and support applications using ROS (Robot Operating System)
Write, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs
Deploy and troubleshoot machine vision systems
Install and commission manufacturing equipment
Manage project scopes, schedules, and vendor coordination
Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (ABET accredited) in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Robotics, Controls, or related engineering field
2+ years of automotive manufacturing experience
Hands-on experience with ROS, PLC programming, and vision systems
Experience in manufacturing equipment installation and commissioning
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
Willingness to travel (~25%) and work overtime (~20%)
Preferred
Master's or PhD in Robotics/Controls/Mechatronics
Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, ABB, Fanuc, Keyence, Cognex, or similar platforms
Knowledge of SAE/ISO, NFPA/NEC, and UL standards
Project Management certification
