Bebashi Transition to Hope is a multi-purpose health and social services agency providing culturally sensitive health-related information and services. They are seeking an experienced Accountant to oversee the financial operations, ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and supporting budgeting, audits, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

Maintain the general ledger, prepare routine and adjusting journal entries
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll entries
Review transactions for accuracy, proper coding, and compliance with internal controls
Prepare standard financial reports, schedules, and variance analyses
Support preparation of internal management reports for leadership and the Board
Assist in preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit standards
Track restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring proper classification and reporting
Support grant accounting, including tracking expenditures and preparing grant-related reports
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including nonprofit and funding requirements
Assist with annual audits, reviews, and external examinations
Maintain organized documentation to support audits and internal reviews
Assist the Director of Finance with annual budgeting and forecasting activities
Monitor budget-to-actual performance and flag variances
Support financial planning initiatives as assigned
Follow established accounting policies and procedures
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency
Support internal controls and segregation of duties
Assist with special projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, required
Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience, required
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite
Working knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
