RMS Energy Co, LLC is seeking a Head of Training & Development to lead a team responsible for creating structured training programs based on technical requirements in the electrical services sector. Responsibilities

Lead and coach a Training Coordinator, Training Specialist, and Instructional Designer ensuring they execute logistics, documentation, content production, and learner support
Serve as the technical leader who translates engineering, operations, and safety requirements into clear curriculum, labs, and competencies
Partner across all divisions with Engineering, FS Operations, Safety, Quality, and HR to build an integrated, enterprise-wide training system
Provide direction on technical standards, instructional expectations, and program quality while developing the team’s capability to support execution
Manage daily operations of the Orlando training center, ensuring lab environments, hands-on equipment, simulators, and tools are safe, ready, and fully functional
Oversee calibration, testing, setup, and maintenance of equipment working directly with technical SMEs to validate accuracy
Develop lab procedures, hazardous energy controls, equipment usage protocols, and readiness standards
Engineer realistic training scenarios, failure simulations, and hands-on exercises that mirror real field conditions
Lead the design and rollout of new hire programs across ERS, Transformers, Bus, TDEC, and Engineering
Build multi-week, multi-phase development pipelines that blend classroom instruction, hands-on labs, simulations, field onboarding, and competency assessments
Translate SME and operational insights into program architecture, flow, and learning paths
Direct non-technical team members to produce schedules, materials, documentation, and learner resources based on technical requirements you define
Personally own the technical design of curriculum, labs, skill checks, and troubleshooting exercises
Work with SMEs and field leaders to extract technical knowledge and convert it into structured, teachable content
Guide the Instructional Designer in transforming technical material into e-learning, manuals, simulations, videos, and instructor-led content
Review and approve all technical curriculum to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with NETA, IEEE, NFPA, OSHA, and customer standards
Maintain version control and documentation excellence across all training materials
Deliver selected technical modules during launch phases and key programs
Build a 'train-the-trainer' program that equips SMEs, supervisors, and foremen to deliver their subject matter effectively
Coach field leaders on instructional methods, lab facilitation, and technical demonstration best practices
Support skills assessments, job-readiness evaluations, and progression sign-offs
Oversee NETA certifications, PE and electrical licenses, CDL, crane/rigger certifications, and customer-required credentials
Serve as RMS’s NETA Certified Representative, managing audits, reporting, compliance, and relationship governance
Maintain audit-ready records and coordinate with HR and Operations to ensure workforce compliance for project assignments
Manage multiple concurrent training projects with clear timelines, milestones, and deliverables
Oversee facility scheduling, instructor assignments, SME availability, equipment readiness, and curriculum development
Direct vendors for training equipment, simulators, LMS, materials, and certification programs
Provide regular updates to the CHRO and executive leaders on program status, pipeline throughput, and risks
Track and report KPIs such as pass rates, throughput, readiness, retention impact, and progression velocity
Measure training ROI through operational performance, safety outcomes, and workforce stability
Deliver executive-level reporting that shows program impact and workforce pipeline health
Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies such as VR/AR, digital twins, simulation environments, and mobile learning
Benchmark RMS programs against NETA, IEEE, NFPA, IEC, IBEW, OEM, and industry best practices
Continuously refine labs, curriculum flow, delivery methods, and competency models
Assume other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent field experience)
7+ years in electrical services, power systems, substation, transformer, or similar technical environments
5+ years designing or delivering technical training programs, hands-on labs, or competency-based development
Strong understanding of electrical theory, safety practices (NFPA 70E, OSHA), and field operations
Experience building technical curriculum, skills assessments, and practical training exercises
Ability to translate SME knowledge into structured, teachable content
Demonstrated ability to manage complex training projects and multiple stakeholders
Strong communication skills and ability to partner across FS Operations, Engineering, Safety, Quality, and HR
Proven ability to coach non-technical team members while owning technical accuracy
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a strong customer focus and the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences
Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills, demonstrating a capacity for managing multiple priorities and driving project success
Ability to travel up to 10% throughout the continental USA, reflecting flexibility and commitment to project needs
Ability to pass a stringent drug screening and background check, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and policies
Hold a valid and current driver's license

Preferred

NETA, OSHA, or industry certifications
Experience in a NETA shop, utility, or industrial electrical contractor environment
Experience launching new training programs or facilities
