Commonpoint Queens is seeking an Assistant Program Director for their after-school programs, playing a crucial role in supporting the Program Director. Responsibilities

Act as a mentor to both staff and students, offering meaningful support, coaching, and guidance to help the school community unlock their potential and thrive in their roles
Serve as a trusted thought partner to the Program Director, providing innovative ideas and insights that drive program development and foster continuous growth
Lead the charge in delivering dynamic programming, ensuring activities are engaging, student participation is high, and both staff and youth are supported in a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment
Foster deep, meaningful relationships with staff, youth, parents, schools, and the local community, creating a collaborative and united network that strengthens the program’s impact
Play an active role in designing and executing youth development programming, focusing on activities, schedules, and projects that inspire leadership, growth, and teamwork in students
Commit to personal and professional development by participating in staff meetings and training sessions, modeling a growth mindset, and inspiring others to do the same
Lead with a clear vision, motivating and guiding the team with purpose and passion, fostering a culture of excellence, and inspiring success across the program
Utilize tools like DYCD Connect, EzReports, and Salesforce to manage data, streamline processes, and ensure smooth, efficient program operations
Provide flexible support by taking on additional programmatic and administrative tasks as needed, always stepping up to ensure the ongoing success and development of the program

Required

A high school diploma or equivalent is required
Experience working with youth in an educational setting, such as schools, after-school programs, or camps
A solid understanding of youth development, educational methods, lesson planning, and best practices in engaging and supporting children
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Ability to maintain a safe and supportive environment for children, guide their learning, and manage classroom dynamics
Must demonstrate adaptability and problem-solving abilities in a dynamic, fast-paced setting
Experience in a leadership role with youth, such as mentoring or directing programs
Familiarity with or proficiency in data management systems such as DYCD Connect, EzReports, or Salesforce

Preferred

Applicants in pursuit of a degree in Education, Social Work, or other related fields are preferred, demonstrating a commitment to working with youth and educational development
Knowledge of or willingness to learn various educational strategies and tools that support diverse learners
