Human Resources Supervisor- Benefits

The City of Scottsdale is currently recruiting for a key leadership role within the Human Resources Department. The Benefits Supervisor will oversee the City’s benefits operations, lead a team of Benefits Analysts, and ensure efficient administration while driving strategic initiatives in policy development and compliance.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Lead high-performing teams and contribute to impactful citywide initiatives
Oversee the City’s benefits operations
Ensure efficient day-to-day administration of benefits
Drive strategic initiatives in policy development, compliance, and system enhancements
Collaborate with Procurement, IT, and external vendors to deliver a seamless and engaging benefits experience for employees
Maintain regulatory compliance and implement new programs
Serve as a trusted resource for staff and employees

Qualification

SHRM CertificationHRCI CertificationHuman Resources ExperiencePublic Sector ExperienceClient Service SkillsCommunication SkillsOrganizational SkillsCollaboration SkillsAdaptability

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Public Administration, or closely related field from an accredited educational institution
Five years' professional level human resources or organizational development experience and at least one year of lead or management experience in people or projects
Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work

Preferred

Certification from SHRM (e.g., SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) and/or HRCI (e.g., PHR or SPHR) preferred
Demonstrated excellence in communication, organization, collaboration, and client service, with a proactive approach to exceeding expectations
Proven ability to remain adaptable and flexible in a dynamic environment
Prior experience working within a municipal or public sector setting is highly desirable
