Purchasing Assistant
TSP is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to manage purchasing processes and vendor interactions. The role involves creating purchase orders, reviewing requisitions, and collaborating with procurement teams to ensure compliance and efficiency in purchasing activities.

Responsibilities
Create purchase orders for goods and services in accordance with established processes and cycle time expectations
Review purchase requisitions and vendor quotes for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance
Maintain and manage a queue of incoming purchase requisitions
Update delivery schedules and pricing based on vendor acknowledgments
Execute purchase order change requests accurately and in a timely manner
Ensure purchasing and receiving activities are properly documented and recorded
Interface with vendors, accounts payable, vendor master, logistics, and internal procurement teams
Resolve invoice issues, supplier maintenance questions, and receiving discrepancies
Collaborate with procurement teams to manage orders based on lead times, business needs, and price changes
Follow purchasing policies and business rules related to P2P activities
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of end-to-end P2P processes
Use reports to identify, track, and resolve issues
Respond promptly to vendor and internal inquiries
Recommend process improvements based on day-to-day operational experience
Support global P2P initiatives and priorities
Participate in occasional early morning or evening meetings to support global stakeholders
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with transactional processing or data entry in SAP or a similar ERP system
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, and Excel
Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
Confidence communicating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Customer-focused mindset and ability to follow up on open items
Ability to work effectively under pressure and make timely decisions
Preferred
Recent hands-on experience creating and editing purchase orders in SAP
