Associate - PowerBI Platform Administrator

Responsibilities

Lead installation, upgrades, and large-scale deployments of Fabric/Power BI Report Server and Fabric/Power BI Service across Dev, QA, and Production environments
Design and maintain high-availability, clustered, and failover configurations to support enterprise BI workloads
Plan and execute patches, security updates, and version upgrades with minimal business disruption
Perform regular Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) that includes but not limited to certificate renewal, password rotations, security patching, qualify documents and SharePoint articles updates
Optimize Fabric/Power BI Gateway performance, Dataflow efficiency, and dataset refresh reliability
Define, implement, and enforce governance for workspaces, datasets, reports, permissions, and content lifecycle management
Perform regular audits and generate insights on usage, refresh schedules, performance, and capacity utilization
Develop automation scripts and DevOps pipelines using Fabric/Power BI REST APIs, PowerShell, and related tools to reduce manual administrative effort
Implement automated inventory management, monitoring, and usage tracking
Partner with infrastructure, network, database, cloud, and security teams to troubleshoot complex issues and improve platform stability
Support integrations across Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, and hybrid environments
Lead capacity planning, platform scaling, performance tuning, and resource optimization initiatives
Mentor junior administrators, establish SOPs, and drive standard methodologies for platform operations
Act as the enterprise SME for Fabric/Power BI architecture, governance, and upgrades—guiding stakeholders, assessing risks, and communicating platform strategy

Required

High School Diploma/GED with 5 plus years of experience administering Fabric/Power BI platforms
5 Plus years of hands-on experience with Fabric/Power BI Service and Power BI Report Server administration
Demonstrated experience with upgrades, configuration, monitoring, and enterprise deployments
Experience supporting enterprise BI operations, migrations, and DR planning
Experience with ServiceNow or equivalent ticketing systems
Deep understanding of Fabric/Power BI architecture, including capacity management, HA/DR strategies, and system integration patterns
Proven ability to optimize dataset refresh, gateway performance, and BI workload distribution
Expertise using PowerShell, Fabric/Power BI REST API, and automation methods for large-scale administrative tasks
Advanced SQL skills for troubleshooting, data validation, and performance analysis
Experience managing enterprise identity, security models, and SSO integrations (AD, Azure AD)
Familiarity with cloud ecosystems (Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks) and hybrid analytics deployments
Experience with version control (Git) and DevOps-style workflows
Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to translate business requirements into platform enhancements
Strong documentation skills required to support Security and CSQA compliance

Preferred

Preferred experience administering BI tools such as Spotfire or SAP Business Objects
Advanced SQL capability and proficiency with PowerShell and Fabric/Power BI REST API
