Discovery/Records Clerk (Admin Spec II) | Administrative Support | Criminal Division

They are seeking a Discovery/Records Clerk to provide essential administrative support for the Criminal Division, focusing on the management and dissemination of criminal discovery and public records requests.

Responsibilities
Ordering, managing, and dissemination of criminal discovery
Uploading media evidence to an electronic portal and dissemination to defense attorneys (evidence.com)
Receiving, processing, and responding to requests for public records in compliance with the Public Records Act, RCW 42.56 for the department
Redacting videos and documents for trial prep, as well as responding to public records
Performing administrative duties and clerical work supporting the administrative unit and the division with a high level of efficiency and accuracy
Organizing and coordinating administrative support operations and procedures; evaluating procedures and revising as necessary
Utilizing clear, concise, and professional communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
Supporting the front desk as needed
Effectively prioritizing time to meet legal requirements for responding to discovery and Public Records Act deadlines
Researching and compiling information on special projects at the request of the division's leadership, which requires a high degree of legal knowledge and independence
Qualification
Required
two years of clerical support experience (or a combination of education, training, and/or equivalent experience)
Preferred
Use of effective written and verbal communication
Shift priorities and tasks without advanced notice
Use technology and problem-solve
Use good judgment and successfully perform work under pressure and in stressful situations
Work independently and as a team player
Demonstrate ethics and integrity
Manage time and structure day based on work priority and deadlines
Knowledge of document and video redaction software
Knowledge of RCW 42.56 and other statutes, case law, rules, and regulations used to respond to public records requests
Intermediate skill level using Microsoft suite, (Word, Excel, Outlook), as well as other programs and case management software such as Adobe Acrobat, Evidence.com, GovQA
