Lead Manufacturing Engineer
GE Aerospace is a provider of engineering and manufacturing services for commercial and military customers. The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes while ensuring safety, quality, and cost objectives are met.

Responsibilities
Utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals
Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions and related documentation
Design and build / procure necessary fixtures and tooling to manufacture electronic assemblies and products
Support assembly equipment upgrades from purchase through installation
Conduct cost / benefit analysis for changes to manufacturing processes and / or equipment
Assist Production Supervisors and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems through a drive to root cause and permanent corrective action
Support EHS projects in cell
Drive Process Improvement / Cycle Reduction initiatives and drive productivity improvements via process changes or improvements
Ensure processes contribute to a safe work environment
Identify and reduce sources of labor efficiency variations
Identify and reduce product quality issues caused by process variation
Support the quality function through integration of ISO / QC documentation and manufacturing work instructions
Translate technical processes and methods to train and empower production employees in the manufacturing techniques required for greatest yield effectiveness & equipment capability
Lead high impact process and quality improvement projects yielding significant reduction in defects and increased productivity in the Cell
Attend weekly cross-functional quality sessions and track/drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for Cell issues
Lead New Technology Initiatives (NTI) and share best practices with other locations
Utilize lean-manufacturing principles and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs and increase capacity defects and increased productivity in the Cell
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 7 years of experience in Manufacturing)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, and/or Industrial Engineering
This position requires U.S. citizenship status
Preferred
Experience with wave solder and selective solder
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
Strong mechanical design ability
Experience with programming and set-up of electronic assembly equipment (e.g. screen printers, SMT assembly machines, reflow ovens, wave solder machine, etc.)
Prior manufacturing and process improvement accomplishments
Ability to manage priorities and achieve results
Prior exposure to and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
Strong Project Management skills
Strong manufacturing process knowledge
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
